“We had no bond. So that was very upsetting,” she added.

Ricci also told Doherty that having a supportive partner made returning to work just two months after Cleo’s birth “so much easier” for her.

“I went and shot Wednesday in Romania when she was 2 months old, and Mark did every single night all night long,” Ricci said.

“Like I just slept and worked the next day, and it made such a huge difference.”

She first married James Heerdegen on October 26, 2013, in New York City.

In 2020, she went through a divorce from Heerdegen.

Ricci was also granted a restraining order from her former husband after she alleged he began abusing her in 2019.

The actress says she “feared for her life” when she was “beat” numerous times as her husband “spit on her” and “made pig noises” towards her in the shocking allegations.

The court papers say that the Addams Family star told James she wanted a divorce, but her plans were halted when the Covid-19 pandemic hit the US in March. 

As the country went into a nationwide lockdown, Ricci said she “found herself trapped in a house with a violent abuser.”

While in quarantine, she claimed she was attacked by her husband twice in June of 2020.

She alleged the confrontation became so heated that he chased her around the house to prevent her from calling 911 during an argument. 

The documents state that James allegedly dragged Christina by her wrists into their yard and “threw her into a fire pit.”

Larry Bakman, James’ attorney, told TMZ they will file for their own restraining order against the star “detailing her abusive conduct fueled by alcohol and substance abuse.”

“His papers will also include documentation that Ms. Ricci advised law enforcement in December 2019 that there had been no prior incidents of domestic violence between the couple, thereby calling into question her credibility.”

The attorney also said his client “unequivocally denies all allegations of abuse made by Ms. Ricci as having occurred in 2020.”

In January 2021, Ricci was granted a Domestic Abuse Restraining Order (DARO) against Heerdegen.

By April 2021, Ricci also received full custody of the couple’s son, Freddie, with Heerdegen being awarded visitation rights.

A little over a year later, Ricci revealed that she was dating her then-boyfriend, hairstylist to the stars Mark Hampton.
