Below Deck fans will remember Kate Chastain who starred in the series up until 2020. Kate still appears in the series, providing commentary in more of Bravo’s Below Deck content. But how old is Kate Chastain now?

How old is Kate Chastain on Below Deck?

Kate Chastain was one of the main series regulars until she left the series after season seven. 

Despite walking away from the main show, Chastain still appears in much of the extra content surrounding the series that Bravo produces.

Chastain is 38 years old and was 31 when she first starred in season two of the main Below Deck series.

Now the star can be seen in Bravo’s Chat Room and Below Deck Galley Talk, which are two of Bravo’s main talk shows.

Below Deck Galley Talk is an after-party style series where former Below Deck stars and guest celebrities comment on the most recent Below Deck drama.

Chastain became an overnight fan-favourite on the show after she debuted in 2014, however, she sadly decided to leave the series after seven years.

The star made the announcement on her Instagram, where she details the reasons she decided to stay on land for the time being.

Chastain explained: “After many months of reflection and internal discussions, I have chosen to make a transition this year in starting to carve out a progressive new land-based role.

“I intend to step back as a senior member of the Below Deck Family and work to become financially independent while continuing to fully support His Majesty Andy Cohen.”

Chastain became known for her no-nonsense attitude, often getting into heated arguments with male crew members.

Fans particularly followed her rivalry with Chef Kevin Dobson, which would often end up in explosive arguments on deck.

Despite leaving the series, Chastain remains a close member of the Below Deck franchise, with her being more closely involved than just the commentary series.

The star’s voice can be heard in the spin-off show Below Deck: Mediterranean, which she has been narrating since leaving the main series.

Chastain may also be back on the boat one day too, with the star recently speaking to ET Online about her future with the show.

She revealed that she is open to returning to the main series, saying that “I’ll go back and do a season here or there for sure.

The former Head Stewardess explained: "I took a bit of a break from it, I've done a few kinda freelance things.

“I don’t see myself going back full-time, travelling all the time, because you can’t necessarily have a relationship.

"It’s quite hard to have a normal life. But I’ll go back and do a season here or season there for sure."

For now, there have been no more details on Chastain returning to the main series, however, there are still plenty of options for fans to see the star involved with Below Deck.

Chastain continues to contribute to the spin-off series in the franchise and there is no word on her walking away from these series anytime soon.
