Tom Selleck is a well-known and incredibly charismatic American actor and producer. He began his career in acting in the 1980s with his role as Thomas Magnum in the TV show Magnum P.I. Born Thomas William Selleck in Detroit in 1945, he spent his childhood years in California where he grew up alongside his parents and three siblings. He fell in love with basketball while he was in college, and then worked as a model, but one of his college teachers told him to try acting instead. After serving in the military, he made one of the best decisions of his life: he decided to fully commit to an acting career.

Selleck took part in producing many TV shows like The Rockford Files and The Dating Game in the 1970s. He also played in movies like Midway, Coma, and Concrete Cowboys. Magnum P.I. was his big break, and it led to a very successful decade. Some of his most famous movies are Mr. Baseball, In & Out, and The Love Letter (with Ellen DeGeneres), as well as Three Men and a Baby, Friends, The Closer, and the Jesse Stone series. Tom Selleck has two children and has been married two times. He is also sometimes involved in political and charitable causes.
