How Powerful Is Dante (Devil May Cry) By Kirito352 On DeviantArt

Strength

Dante has the strength to match and even defeat some of the strongest demons, demons more powerful than the Leviathan (basically a flying demon whale).

Before DMC3, Dante was strong enough to shatter a giant statue in a single strike.

Dante shatters a statue (DMC3)

In the manga, Dante shatters a pretty big tatue

Dante caught a punch from the depowered Savior, which was estimated to be around 360,000,000 Newtons (over 36,000 tons of force), and after that he pushed back the Savior (if you watch closely the Savior's body moved when Dante pushed him, this means not only Dante pushed the Savior's hand, but also a considerable segment of his body).

When standing aside the Savior's hand, Dante appeared to be of comparable size to it's fingers.

Dmc2

176 px = 1.9 m

132 px = 1.425 m

IIRC Dante is about 1.9 m and a human finger has a width of 2 cm. By this I find that the Savior is 71.25 times bigger than a human and has a volume 361,705.078 times greater. Assuming it's made of granite and considering the difference of density with human flesh, the Savior must weight 78,128.29 tons. Dante could match the Savior without too much effort.

Dante was able to fool with Nero and no sell attacks from his Devil Bringer, which is strong enough to crush a giant head of stone.

In the final boss of DMC4, Nero used his Devil

After fighting Mundus in his dimension, Dante fought him again (without Force Edge) in a weakened state, but even in that state, Mundus was still powerful enough to destroy Mallet Island.

MLiterature

Mundus destroys Mallet Island

Apparently Capcom has a thing with destroying

At full power, Mundus had vast reality warping powers, such as creating a mirrored version of Mallet Island or even creating a pocket dimension for his battle against Dante. The size of the dimension has been matter of debate, but I made an estimate in this page.

Mundus survived the dimension's collapse and Dante could harm him, and he even defeated him in an alternate universe in the DMC2 novel without using Sparda (this version of Mundus was described as the embodiment of all demonic energy in the underworld). In DMC4, is stated that Dante surpassed Sparda, which is confirmed in DMC2 when he defeats Argosax without Devil Trigger. Argosax is confirmed to be as powerful as Mundus.

Speed

Dante during DMC3 could catch up to his sword falling at re-entry speed (17,500 mph = 7,823.2 m/s) and could effortlessly avoid Lady, who could dodge Trish's lightning. Dante could also react to Nevan's lightning. Dante could dodge Griffon's lightning attacks, one of them which was a lightning bolt zigzaging through the battleground, which Dante can dodge. He's clearly superior to V who is able to easily dodge Cavaliere Angelo's lightning. Both Griffon and Cavaliere are able to use lightning from the sky which means is actual lightning.

In DMC4, he defeated Blitz, electric demons that move as a lightning bolt. Considering they're basically living lightning bolts, nothing stop them of moving at a lightning bolt's top speed (lightning can reach a speed of 1,400 km/s, with the return stroke being able to reach 1/3 the speed of light). Like any enemy of DMC4, Dante defeated him without breaking a sweat. Blitz weren't even top tier demons and Nero, at the time much weaker than Dante, could defeat them.

Even the young DMC3 Dante has better speed feats, like in this page I made where I calculated DMC3 feats.

DLiterature

Dante's speed

In DMC 3, Dante used one of his bullets to propel

Dante's bullet goes at hundreds of times the speed of sound and he already reached relativistic speed before his 20's.

Dante could dodge and block the Damned Rooks' lasers, which resemble legitimate lasers:

1- Don't explode upon contact.

2- Travel in straight line.

3- Are officially called lasers.

Dante could avoid attacks from Nightmare. Plasma's files describe Nightmare-β's shots (a weapon based on Nightmare) to be made of light. One of Nightmare's beams was a straight beam that didn't explode upon contact, just like a real laser/beam of light.

Later in the series, Dante could react to a beam fired by Mundus (if you pay attention, Dante only moved when the beam was right in front of him). The game's strategy book describes Mundus' beam as a particle beam. In real life, particle beams move at 99.997% the speed of light.

Also, Dante is faster than V and pre-awakening Nero, both who could dodge attacks from Artemis, who is stated by the story to wield light as a weapon (also demonstrated when calling a pillar of light during the fight from which she absorbs light for her attack, and just like real lasers/beams of light they burn/melt instead of exploding).

Dante scales to Nero, who in his Devil Trigger jumped from the bottom of the Qliphoth to the top to stop a clash from Dante and Vergil.

Durability

Dante has taken slashes from Frost, (ice demons whose ice claws are stated by game-data to be colder than absolute zero), Ifrit's fire (which is hotter than a volcano and is able to burn Frost demons, which might mean Ifrit's fire can reach Planck Temperature) and attacks from top tier demons like Abigail and Argosax (a being stated to be as powerful as Mundus, who destroyed an entire island in a weakened state, and at full power created a giant dimension and survived this one collapsing upon him).

In DMC3, Dante could tank attacks from Nevan, whose lightning bolts are this powerful.

Abigail's Ritual

While performing the ritual to break Sparda's seal

Dante easily clashed with Abigail in human form and then defeated him with just a Devil Trigger explosion. Not only that, by the most current part of his career Dante has surpassed demons more powerful than Abigail, such as Sparda and Argosax. Dante has even fought against the fully charged Savior, a giant demonic statue powered by his father's demonic power.

Fighting skill

Dante has defeated demons with hundreds or even millennia of combat experience, like Mundus' generals such as Griffon, who were alive when Sparda rebelled against Mundus, 2000 years in the past.

Healing

Dante has a superb healing factor. He has been stabbed multiple times, to the point to even laughing of his wounds. In his battle against his brother Vergil, who is his virtual equal, Dante completely cut him in half and healed so fast that the wound was never visible. Then is also the time when he got impaled by Alastor and he removed it by pushing his chest against the crossguard and the hilt of the sword. Before DMC3, Dante took a literal rain of spears/needles piercing through all the sections of his body.

Transformations

Dante can use Devil Trigger, a transformation that immensely increase all of his physical aspects, including his healing. When fighting Abigail, Dante was equal to him in human form, with Devil Trigger his power greatly increased to the point he was capable to destroy him with just one swing (this is makes sense as small upgrades such as some Devil Hearts increase stats by a tenfold, so it's likely Devil Trigger and it's variants do the same).

Dante can use even more powerful DT forms, like Sparda DT when using Sparda's sword, Alastor DT which make him faster and can fly, Ifrit DT which make him stronger and allows him to manipulate hellfire, and the strongest of all, Shin Majin/Sin DT form, which makes him invulnerable to even DMC top tiers, allows him to fly and has more power than all his DT forms. After absorbing Sparda into his body, Dante mastered the form which is said to be far more powerful than the legendary Sparda.

Extra abilities

Dante has Styles, magical abilities he obtained for defeating different demons.

Quicksilver: Allows Dante to slow down time so much that almost appear to freeze it completely.

It also gives Dreadnaught form, which makes him impervious to even DMC world's most destructive attacks such as the giant energy blast of the Savior when it was powered by Sparda's energy.
