Leylah Annie Fernandez is a professional tennis player from Canada. She was born in September 6, 2002.

Fernandez was born in the Canadian city of Montreal.  Her father, Jorge happens to be a retired Ecuadorian soccer star. Irene, her mother, is a Filipino Canadian. Bianca Jolie, her younger sister, is also a tennis player. 

She attained a career-high ranking of No. 24 by the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) on November 8, 2021.

Fernandez claimed her first WTA Tour victory in the Monterrey Open in 2021 and later finished runner-up to fellow youngster Emma Raducanu in the 2021 US Open.

She defeated three top-5 players on way to the final (including defending champion Naomi Osaka).
