Famous actor Martin Freeman has often played roles that highlight his smaller height from Bilbo Baggins in The Hobbit trilogy to starring next to the six ft Benedict Cumberbatch in Sherlock.

However, Martin is not actually very small as he measures 5ft 7ins tall, which is only two inches shorter than the average British man, which is 5ft 9ins.

He has had a very successful career from winning an Emmy and a BAFTA to starring in blockbuster films like Marvel's Black Panther and Hot Fuzz.

In his early career he starred in popular films such as Ali G Indahouse and Love Actually, alongside Gavin & Stacey's Joanna Page.

Playing Dr. John Watson in the BBC adaptation of Sherlock was one of his biggest and most successful roles for which he won the 2011 Best Supporting Actor BAFTA.

He has also continued acting in Christmas films, including the 2013 film Saving Santa and the 2020 film A Christmas Carol.

Recently he has starred in the film Ode to Joy and is currently filming the second Black Panther film, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.

Martin was previously with fellow Sherlock co-star Amanda Abbington and the pair have two children together and are now separated. He is currently dating French actress Rachel Mariam.
