The Queen’s 70-year reign sadly came to an end last year.

All eyes have been on the royal family ever since and it hasn’t taken long to wonder: just how tall were the Queen and the rest of the royal family?

The UK’s average height for a woman is 5ft 3in and the average height for a man is 5ft 9in, according to the Office for National Statistics.

How do the royals compare to the national average?

How tall was the Queen?

Her Majesty stood at the average 5ft 3in at the time of her death, while the Queen Mother was thought to be around 5ft 2in.

The Queen, however, was a little taller during her coronation in 1953, standing at 5ft in.

It is normal for women to lose about two inches between the ages of 30 and 70, according to Premier Health.

How tall are the Royal Family members?

Prince William is the tallest in the family at 6ft 3in.

Prince Harry is an inch shorter, at 6ft 2in, although the height difference is hardly noticeable.

The two princes likely got their height from their grandfathe,r Prince Philip, who passed down the tall gene – he stood at 6ft.

Both King Charles III and Princess Diana were the same height at 5ft 10in.

Catherine, the Princess of Wales, is one of the tallest women in the family at 5ft 9in.

Right behind the princess is the Queen Consort Camilla, who stands at 5ft 8in.

Queen Elizabeth’s only daughter, Princess Anne, is 5 ft 6in, and shares the same height as Meghan Markle.

Princess Eugenie and Beatrice have both taken after their grandmother at 5ft 5in and 5ft 4in.
