There was one item that gives you more invincibility when you are hit (Cloudy gasses I think), those helped me a lot. Memorizing the spears is the hardest of it. Near the middle of the fight the spears will circle around you. Don't be intimidated, and just focus on the opening. From there you can move easier around the area. There are two variants of this, but just don't think too much of that. It took me countless tries, and my friend even gave up on the game at that point. It'll be all good though!
