Want to review post and image tags on Facebook before they show up on your timeline? This is a good way to curate your Facebook profile and keep out posts you don't want. Keep in mind that this may not stop the posts from appearing on other users' profiles or timelines. This wikiHow guide teaches you how to approve tags on Facebook using your computer, iPhone, or Android device.
Accepting Tags and Posts on Facebook
To manually approve tags on Facebook, go to your settings and select Profile and tagging. Toggle on Review tags people add to your posts before the tags appear on Facebook? On mobile, go to your profile and tap Options > Review posts and tags to approve or hide new requests.

1 Open the Facebook app. It’s the blue icon on your home screen (or in the app drawer, if you’re using Android) with a white “F.”
If you’re prompted to sign in to your account, enter your username and password and tap Log In.
2 Tap ☰. If you’re using Android, it’s at the top right corner of the screen. If you’re using an iPhone or iPad, you’ll see it at the bottom right corner. Advertisement
3 Tap Settings & privacy, then Settings. This will open your Facebook account's settings.
4 Tap Profile and tagging. You can find this below Audience and visibility.
5 Toggle on "Review tags people add to your posts before the tags appear on Facebook". You can find this below the Reviewing header. When this option is turned on, you'll receive a notification whenever there's a post you need to review. The tag requests can be approved or ignored.
When you approve a tag, the person tagged and their own friends may be able to see the post.
6 Approve tags and posts (optional). Similar to tags, you can review posts before they're added to your profile on Facebook. Do the following:
Tap ☰ Menu.
Tap your name.
Tap ••• Options.
Tap Review posts and tags.
Tap Add to profile. You'll see this next to each pending post.
Alternatively, you can tap Hide to ignore the request.

Question There is no pencil icon to approve it for my timeline! There is no "hide from my timeline," nor does it appear automatically. I'm tagged, yet cannot approve it for my timeline. Help!!
