Epic Games has made many games to damage traps in Fortnite Battle Royale. At first, there were three different traps in the game as players could use a Wall Dynamo for walls and a Ceiling Zapper for ceilings. Additionally, a Spike Trap was only used for the floor. However, Fortnite players can now only use a Spike Trap, and they can also avoid it if they are careful.

How to avoid taking trap damage in Fortnite

Reddit user ImSpeedyGonzalez has recently posted a long video on how to avoid taking trap damage in the video game. The Fortnite player explained different ways to do this in a 10-minute video, showing other players how to save their health and shield in some tough situations.

If you are careful enough, you can avoid almost any trap your enemy put down. Considering that traps now deal 150 damage, it is crucial to avoid getting hit by them.

Wall traps can be avoided by walking tightly alongside the wall that is opposite of the wall the trap is placed on. Additionally, players can simply build a ramp so it blocks the spikes. Epic Games has made this change recently and spikes will no longer go through ramps.

If you find yourself in a situation where you have no materials to build over a floor trap, you should walk on the edge of it. The spikes should not trigger as their sensors are located closer to the center. However, even if the spikes do trigger, they shouldn’t do any damage.

Finally, to avoid a ceiling trap, you will have to run under it to trigger it. However, the key here is to run alongside the edge and move away from trap’s spikes in one motion. After trap triggers, you have a few seconds to run under it without having to worry about it hitting you. Additionally, this trap can also be avoided by building a ramp and walking under it.
