“what could be worse than me?”

Psychological torture in a neon-soaked screen giving us a deep look inside the thoughts of a troubled woman’s mind while she’s left home alone—  with her worst fears and mental anxieties that start to psychically surround her. not the biggest fan of the voice-over but it works as we follow our wandering soul in her intricately detailed apartment as she tries to escape those intruding dark thoughts. disappointed that we were simply being teased with some Lovecraftian-esque style in that end shot!

how to be alone is gorgeously shot with some creepy imagery which in the end, makes this very much my kinda shit.

This is kind of the perfect, most cathartic movie for people who are social distancing right now.

For a 12 minute short, this really drove home the paranoia, anxiety and horror of facing our inner demons and fears when alone. I thought the style of this was really quite cool.

Why is Maika Monroe so scary good at playing a total weirdo? Is that why her movie boyfriends always abandon her?
