This wikiHow teaches you how to use your iPhone’s Do Not Disturb mode to block all incoming phone calls.

  1. Step 1 Open your iPhone’s Settings icon. 1 Open your iPhone’s Settings iPhone Settings App Icon. You’ll usually find it on the home screen.[1]
  2. Step 2 Tap Focus. 2 Tap Focus. This menu allows you to customize your settings for Do Not Disturb and other focus modes.
    • In some earlier versions of iOS, select Do Not Disturb from the main Settings menu instead.

  3. Step 3 Tap Do Not Disturb. 3 Tap Do Not Disturb. It’s at the top of the Focus menu.
  4. Step 4 Tap People. 4 Tap People. This is one of the options under the Allow Notifications header. You can adjust these settings to change which contacts can call you when Do Not Disturb mode is activated.
  5. Step 5 Select an option from the Allow Calls From menu. 5 Select an option from the Allow Calls From menu. By default, you can still receive calls from people who are listed as Favorites in your Phone app. If you don’t want to get any calls, select Allowed People Only. If you haven’t added anyone to your “Allowed” list in your Do Not Disturb settings, this should block all calls.
    • If you prefer to still receive some calls, you can add people to your “Allowed” list by tapping Add People in the same menu screen. Or, select the Favorites or Contacts Only option.
  6. Step 6 Slide the “Allow Repeated Calls” switch to icon if it’s on. 6 Slide the “Allow Repeated Calls” switch to iPhone Switch Off Icon if it’s on. If you leave this switch green/On, anyone who calls you twice in a row will be able to reach you even though you’re in Do Not Disturb mode. Turning it off prevents this from happening.

  1. Step 1 Swipe down from the top right side of the home screen. 1 Swipe down from the top right side of the home screen. Now that you’ve set up Do Not Disturb, here’s how you can enable and disable it quickly from the home screen. Open your Control Center by swiping down from the top right side of the screen.[2]
    • If you’re using an iPhone with a Home button, swipe up from the bottom of the screen instead.
  2. Step 2 Tap the moon icon. 2 Tap the moon icon. On the right side of the Control Center, look for a button with a crescent moon icon and the word Focus. Tap the icon to turn Do Not Disturb on. The button will turn white and the crescent moon will turn purple, and the text on the button will change to “Do Not Disturb On.”[3]
    • If you don’t see the moon, press and hold the Control Center screen and tap Add a Control. Browse the possible controls and tap Focus to add it.
      • In iOS 17 or earlier, you can customize your Control Center from Settings > Control Center.
  3. Step 3 Tap the moon icon again to toggle off Do Not Disturb mode. 3 Tap the moon icon again to toggle off Do Not Disturb mode. The moon icon will turn gray again, and you’ll be able to receive phone calls.[4]
