you can block all numbers not in your contact list by doing this:

  1. go to settings
  2. open "Do Not Disturb"
  3. slide on "Manual"
  4. tap on "Allow Calls From"
  5. Select "All Contacts"

All calls from numbers not on your contacts list will now be blocked. You can however still see all numbers that attempted to call you as missed calls. Verify the numbers and if legit, add them to your contacts list to receive any future calls from them.

Sprint is also being sued by the FCC for "cramming" cell phone bills. It's not a company I would ever do business with.

Finally I’ve found one way:

How to block “No Caller ID” unknown / hidden calls on iPhoneX

My question would be: how to create other “Groups” in iPhone contact list? That would solve few more problems and make life easier - Currently only “Favorites” and “All” exists as groups. Can (and how) I can add one more group?

Edit: I’ve found it! Here is a tutorial link:

As has been explained in the 12 pages of this thread, you cannot block no caller id calls on the phone. You can ask your cellular provider if they will do it.

I've tried the solutions here, (creating a "Non Caller" number with 000-000-0000 isn't recognized on my iPhone & won't block - setting the "Do Not Disturb" to only allow callers in my contacts list doesn't stop the "No Caller ID" calls from getting through) so neither have worked for me. I'm with Verizon & for $4.99 more per month, they do have a service that'll block them. Just haven't decided if the 3 or 4 "No Caller ID" calls I get per day are worth paying even *more* on my monthly bill than I already am. Sure wish Apple had a ready solution for this annoying problem like Android phones, which, from what I've gathered, have built in blocking for these types of calls.

You realize that sounds paranoid, right?

Use an app like NoMoRoBo.

No, I don't know it for a fact, but, as this has been requested for the past 4 years in this thread alone (of many) and Apple has not provided it, I think that's a pretty good indication of their intentions.

If you read all of the thread you will find a number of reasons why blocking "no caller ID" calls may be a bad idea from the user's perspective. There's also a reason from Apple's perspective: It is illegal to mass block political calls and calls from charities. As, by definition, calls without caller ID could be from anyone, blocking them could block these calls that are illegal to block. Providing a way to block them could put Apple at risk for breaking the law or being sued. And there are lots of politicians who would take any excuse to sue Apple.

Contact your wireless provider - some offer this service, some

do not; some charge for the service.

Blocking a call on the phone doesn't really block it; the call has already made it to the phone. All blocking does is send it to voicemail. You can easily do this yourself; if there is no number, just double-press the SLEEP button.

If you are serious about blocking numbers you should contact your carrier. They are the only ones who can block numbers before they are sent to your phone. Most carriers offer blocking services (including No CLID calls) for a small monthly fee.

Hang up immediately when you get one. Or double press the side button to send it to voicemail, which is what happens to blocked numbers, anyway.

I kept getting calls from NO Caller ID. I don't want to limit calls to just my contacts list. So to block this type of call:

Create a new contact called something like Non-Caller or No-Caller

Enter 000-000-0000 for the phone number.

Scroll down and select Block this Caller

This should stop calls from calls that come from "zero" numbers.

If you want to know who you are getting a call from when it says "Unknown Call" you can go to www.trapcall.com and sign up for their service. They have three different pricing plans. As of now I think it's $4/$8/$20 per month. This will remove the "unknown call" feature and actually show you the phone number. It enables you to blacklist the phone number and record their calls. Handy if you are getting harassed by telemarketers and you need to report them.

These were the instructions my carrier gave me.
