1 Open Twitch in your internet browser. Type www.twitch.tv into your browser's address bar, and hit ↵ Enter or ⏎ Return on your keyboard.
2 Log in to your account. Click the Log in button on the top-right, and sign in with your username and password.
- You must be logged in to block a user.
3 Click the Search to Add Friends field on the bottom-left. The user search is located at the bottom of the "Followed Channels" panel on the left-hand side of your screen.
- This is a different search field than the main search bar at the top of the page. The main search bar at the top will open the selected user's channel, but not allow you to block them.
- If the channels panel is condensed to the icon view on the left, click the icon on the top-left corner of the page. This will expand the channel panel, and show the user search bar at the bottom.
4 Enter the username of the account you want to block. Matching users will be listed as you type into the search.
5 Click the user you want to block. Find the user you want to block in the search results, and click their name. This will open a chat box with the selected user.
- The chat box will pop up near the lower-right corner of the page.
6 Click the purple gear icon at the top of the chat box. This button is located next to the "X" icon in the upper-right corner of the chat box. It will open your user options on a drop-down menu.
7 Select Block on the drop-down menu. This option will allow you to block the selected person from adding, hosting or messaging you, and filter their messages from stream chats.
- You will have to confirm your action in a new pop-up window.
8 Click the red Block button in the confirmation pop-up. This will confirm your action, and instantly block the selected user. Advertisement
