How To Catch The Fast Sea Creatures In Animal Crossing
Maybe your like
The new summer update for Animal Crossing: New Horizons introduced a group of brand-new sea creatures for players to catch using the new swimming and diving mechanic. Players must dive for these creatures in the waters around their islands. Many of these creatures, like the Giant Isopod or Gigas Giant Clam, are rather fast and will swim away faster than a player can dive down to capture them. This can lead to some frustration, especially if players miss a creature to add to their museum collection. Some of the faster creatures are also worth the most bells; each Giant Isopod is worth 12,000. Because of this, players should know how to catch them before they get away.

Players can control the speed at which their character swims, and this control is what will help them catch faster and more elusive sea creatures. While intuition suggests players move quickly, the opposite is often true. Players will need to approach these creatures slowly so as not to scare them away. Here's how to capture the quickest sea critters in Animal Crossing: New Horizons so players can get the most out of the new in-game diving mechanic.
How to Catch a Fast Sea Creature in Animal Crossing: New Horizons
When players see shadows in the water, it may indicate there are sea creatures to be caught at the bottom of the ocean. They will want to don their Wet Suit and press A to jump into the water. They will see bubbles near the location of the shadow, much the same way they see shadows of fish. The bubbles indicate there is a creature to catch from that spot.
Players will want to use only the analog stick to move toward the bubbles, making sure they don't push any other buttons. This allows them to swim at the slowest speed and approach the bubbles without frightening the creature into fleeing. Players can get closer to the bubbles this way, limiting the distance between them and the creature. Faster speeds will encourage the creature to swim or scuttle away, and players will miss their opportunity. Players should think of this the same way they think about netting skittish bugs.
When a player swims directly on top of the bubbles, or as close to them as possible, they should press Y to dive down. When they come back up, they will have caught the speedy sea creature.
How to Tell if a Sea Creature is Fast in Animal Crossing: New Horizons
Players who have just begun diving for sea creatures and who have not yet found them all at least once to enter in their encyclopedia typically won't be able to tell which shadows belong to fast sea creatures. Much like fish shadows, there is not much to denote whether a creature will be the quick Giant Isopod or the considerably slower Tiger Prawn apart from shadow size.
Players should approach any bubbles in the water as slowly as possible until they can more easily determine whether the shadow belongs to a faster or slower sea creature. This way, no matter what, they won't scare off a potentially valuable critter.
