Do you need to change the date on your Android phone? By default, your Android device will set the correct time automatically. If you want to, you can also manually set the time and date. This wikiHow article teaches you how to set the date and time on a Samsung Galaxy and a stock Android phone or tablet.

1 Open the Settings menu
. To do so, swipe down from the top of the screen. Then tap the Gear/Settings icon in the upper-right corner. -
2 Scroll down and tap General management. It's next to an icon that resembles three slider bars. This is where you can manage the date and time settings, as well as the language settings.[1] Advertisement -
3 Tap Date and time. This opens the menu that allows you to manage the date and time settings. -
4 Tap the toggle switch next to "Automatic date and time." "Automatic date and time" is enabled by default. This sets the date and time automatically using cellular signals. Disabling this will display options to set the date and time manually. - If the toggle switch is grey, "Automatic date and time" is already disabled.
- Leaving "Automatic date and time" enabled will ensure your Samsung Galaxy always displays the correct time.

5 Tap the toggle switch next to "Automatic time zone." "Automatic time zone" is enabled by default, which allows your phone to select a time zone by cellular antennas or your locations. Turning this off allows you to select a time zone manually. - Leaving "Automatic time zone" enabled ensures that your phone has the correct time zone. You can also tap "Set time zone based on location" to allow your phone to set your time zone based on your GPS location.

9 Set the time. To do so, swipe up and down on the dials to set the hour and minute as well as AM or PM. Then tap Done. -
10 Select your time zone. If you need to change your time zone, tap Select time zone and then tap your current time zone. -

1 Open your Android's Settings

4 Tap the toggle switch next "Set time automatically." Doing so will disable automatic date- and time-setting, allowing you to adjust both the time and the date manually. - If the toggle switch is grey is grey, "Set time automatically" is already disabled.
- Leaving "Set time automatically" enabled will ensure your Android device always has the correct time.
