Whatever your opinion is, this guide will show you how to change the Instagram app icon on your iPhone, Android phone, iPad, or PC.

How to Change Instagram Icon on Desktop

If you use Instagram on your PC or laptop and want to change the icon:

1. Step 1

   

   Right-click the Instagram icon, and click Properties at the bottom of the menu.

2. Step 2

   

   Select Change Icon in the new window, then click Browse and find the icon you want to use.

3. Step 3

   Click OK and then Apply to complete your changes.

   Your Instagram icon should now be changed on your Desktop.

How to Change Instagram App Icon on Mobile

To change your Instagram icon on the home screen of your Android or iOS device:

On iPhone or iPad Devices

To change your icon, you must first ensure that your iPhone or iPad is updated to iOS 14 or higher.

Next, follow these steps with the iOS Shortcuts app to change the Instagram icon:

1. Step 1

   

   Open your Shortcuts app and select the + (plus) symbol in the top right.

2. Step 2

   

   Tap Open App.

3. Step 3

   Scroll down and choose Instagram in the list. You may have to use the search bar to search for it.

4. Step 4

   Tap the Three Bars icon in the top right.

5. Step 5

   

   Select Add to Home Screen.

6. Step 6

   

   Tap the icon next to New Shortcut, and choose the location of the icon you want for your new shortcut image.

7. Step 7

   Type “Instagram” in the space where it says New Shortcut.

   Tap Add in the top right corner.

   You have now created a new shortcut image to launch Instagram on your iOS device.

You now probably have two app icons that will open Instagram.

To remove the old icon from your home screen:

1. Step 1

   Hold down on the icon until the dropdown menu appears.

2. Step 2

   Select Remove App.

3. Step 3

   Select Remove from Home Screen in the pop-up window.

   The original Instagram icon app will no longer show on your phone’s home screen.

On Android Devices

Unlike iOS devices, Android users do not have the ability to change the app icon with built-in software.

To change the Instagram icon, you must first download X Icon Changer from the Google Play store. This third-party app can be used to put custom icons on any apps you have installed on your Android device.

Note: X Icon Changer is free with ads. You do not need to pay to use it.

Once you have X Icon Changer installed:

1. Step 1

   Hold down on a blank spot on your home screen.

2. Step 2

   Tap Widgets.

3. Step 3

   Scroll through Widgets to find X Icon Changer.

4. Step 4

   Move X Icon Changer to your home screen and open it.

5. Step 5

   In the X Icon Changer menu, find the Instagram icon.

   Select from the app icons available or add your own.

7. Step 7

   

   This new icon will now be on your home screen.

   You now have a new app icon that opens Instagram on your Android device.

   To remove the original Instagram icon, simply hold down on the icon.
