Do you really want to listen to the same alarm every single morning? Most of us get sick of the alarm sound or—worse—tune it out over time. Fortunately, in the age of smartphones, it only takes a moment to change the alarm sound on your iPhone. Here's how.

Choose a Different Ringtone in the Clock App

Start by opening the Clock app on your iPhone and selecting the "Alarm" tab. You'll see a list of all your saved alarms. Just tap the one you want to customize. If you haven't set the alarm yet, tap the add button to create a new alarm.

From the alarm options screen, choose the "Sound" option. The easiest option here is to scroll down and select a different option from the "Ringtones" section. These are all the options that come preloaded on your iPhone. Just tap through the list to preview different sounds.

When you've found an option you like, hit the "Back" button to save the alarm settings and exit. Don't forget to adjust your alarm volume as well.

Or Choose a Song for Your Alarm

If you're not happy with Apple's default ringtones, you can pick a song from your iPhone library, Apple Music, or ringtone store to use instead. Again, select the alarm you want to edit in the Clock app and open the "Sound" option.

At the top of the screen, you'll see an option to visit the "Tone Store" or select a ringtone you've purchased previously. A better option is to tap the "Pick a Song" option and select the song you want to use from your Apple Music library. This can include local songs on your iPhone, songs you've bought on iTunes, or anything from Apple Music's library if you're a subscriber.

You could also choose to create a custom ringtone and save it to your music library to use that.
