This wikiHow teaches you how to hide or alter the phone number that other phone users see when you call them from your Android. If your carrier permits it, you can hide your number from within your Android's call settings. If not, you can download and use a caller ID-changing app called Dingtone for free from the Google Play Store.

Using Android Settings

    • Not all carriers support hiding your caller ID from within settings. If this method doesn't work, try a different method listed in this article.

Using Dingtone

  1. Step 1 Download Dingtone. 1 Download Dingtone. Dingtone is a free app in the Google Play Store, though the downside to Dingtone is that you will need to pay for more call time when you run out. It comes with 15 credits' worth of call time. To download it:
    • Open the Google Play Store Android Google Play
    • Tap the search bar
    • Type in "dingtone".
    • Tap Dingtone
    • Tap INSTALL
    • Tap ACCEPT when prompted.
    • Tap OPEN when it appears.
  2. Step 2 Tap Sign Up. 2 Tap Sign Up. You'll see this blue button at the bottom of the screen.
  3. Step 3 Enter your phone number. 3 Enter your phone number. Tap the "Tap to enter your phone number" field, then type in your current phone number.

    • You can also hide your number by tapping More in the bottom-right corner of the screen, tapping Settings, tapping Call Settings, and tapping the grey Anonymous Call switch.
