How To Change Your Location on Bumble

Travel Mode

If you’re using Bumble on your phone, it defaults to the device’s GPS.1 However, if you have a Bumble Premium subscription, you can use Travel Mode, which lets you change locations.

Once you pick a new city, it’ll appear in your profile for a week; however, it will also show that you’re using Travel Mode (i.e., not physically in the city). If you’re OK with that, you can pay for Travel Mode on both an Android device and an iOS device.

• Android: On Androids, you must be located in the U.S., Canada, France, or Germany to use Travel Mode, which costs five Bumble coins.
• iOS: If you’re using Bumble on an iPhone or iPad, activate Bumble Premium.

How to Change Your Location in the Bumble App

1. Click on the gray gear in the app’s upper left corner to go to Settings.
2. Scroll down to Location.
3. Click “Travel To.”
4. Search for your preferred location and select it.2

Web Browser

On the other hand, if you’re using Bumble on a desktop or laptop, your web browser determines your location. To update it manually:

1. Launch Bumble.
2. Go to your profile image in the screen’s upper left corner.
3. Go to Settings.
4. Scroll down to Location.
5. Click the refresh icon next to the city and your location will update to the last city your browser pinged.

VPN

Maybe you don’t want to pay yet another subscription fee — hey, we get it. Also, if you’re trying to appear like you are in another location physically, Travel Mode won’t do the trick.

Instead, you can use a VPN to change your IP address. Aside from changing your IP address and making Bumble think you’re in a new location, VPNs also hide your web browsing, so your messages can stay private. To set up a VPN:

1. Choose a VPN. You can set up a VPN on an Android, or you can set up a VPN on an iOS device.
2. Create an account, usually on the VPN’s website.
3. Download the app.
4. Log in.
5. Connect to a server in your preferred location. Now, Bumble will think you’re in that location and show you matches accordingly.

Manual

If you have an IP address of the location you’d like, you can change your IP address manually in your phone.

On an iPhone or iPad:

1. Go to Settings.
2. Click “Wi-Fi.”
3. Click “Network.”
4. Where it says “IPv4 address,” select “Configure IP.”
5. Click “Manual.”
6. Enter your new IP address.

On an Android:

1. Go to Settings.
2. Click “Wireless & Networks.”
3. Click “Choose Wi-Fi Network.”
4. Click “Modify Network.”
5. Click “Advanced Options.”
6. Click “Change IP Address.”
7. Enter your new IP address.

GPS Location App

Our third and final recommendation is to use a GPS-changing app to trick your phone and thus Bumble. With a mock location app feature, you can change your virtual location and confuse Bumble’s location services.
