Resetting your password
You can reset your password by asking for a reset link to be sent to you by email or text message. (We can only send text messages if you've added a mobile phone number to your Netflix account.) If you can't use your email or phone number, you might be able to use your credit card information.
Reset password by email
Go to netflix.com/loginhelp and choose Email.
Enter your email address and click Email Me.

Check your inbox (and spam folder) for the reset email from Netflix.
Open the email and click the Reset your password button. (The reset password link will expire in 24 hours.)

Create a new, more memorable password, enter it twice, then click Save.
Note: Your new password can't be the same as your last password. Learn about How to keep your account secure. We recommend that you leave the Sign out all devices box checked. Then click Save to confirm your new password.

Note: Signing out of all the devices you use to watch Netflix when you switch passwords is better for account security. You'll be able to sign back in with your new password. You'll see a banner at the top of your Account screen confirming that your password has been changed. You’ll also get a confirmation email.

If you need help signing in to your TV or TV-connected device, go to the How to sign in to Netflix article.
Troubleshooting
Didn't get the email
Check for it in your spam, junk, or promotions folders.
If you can't find it in your folders, try adding [email protected] to your contact list. Then send yourself a password reset email again.
If you still aren't seeing it, your email provider may be causing a delay. Please wait 5 hours, then check your inbox again.
Link doesn't work
Delete any Netflix password reset emails that are in your inbox.
Go to netflix.com/clearcookies. This will sign you out and take you back to the home page.
Go to netflix.com/loginhelp.
Choose Email.
Enter your email address and click Email Me.
Go back to your email and follow the steps in the new Netflix password reset email.
If you're still having trouble, try resetting your password on a different computer, mobile phone, or tablet.
This password is not secure or is too common
If you see this message when resetting or changing your password, it means that the password you chose is on a list of compromised or commonly used passwords, which we don't allow for security reasons. You’ll need to choose a different one.
Reset password by text message (SMS)
Go tonetflix.com/loginhelp and choose Text Message (SMS).

Enter the phone number linked to your account and click Text Me.
You’ll get a text message with a verification code.

Enter the code and click Verify. (The code will expire after 20 minutes.)

Create a new, more memorable password and enter it twice.
Note: Your new password can't be the same as your last password. Learn about How to keep your account secure. We recommend that you leave the Sign out all devices box checked. Then click Save to confirm your new password.

Troubleshooting
Phone number not linked to accountIf you haven't added a phone number to your account, you'll need to reset your password by email. After signing in, you can add a phone number at any time by going to your Account page and selecting Add phone number. If the phone number on your account is no longer valid, go to your Account page and select Change phone number.
Recover your account using a credit card
If you pay for Netflix with a credit or debit card:
Make sure you have your credit or debit card number on hand.
Go to netflix.com/loginhelp and choose I don't remember my email or phone.

Note: If you don't see this option, it means that credit card account recovery isn't available in your region. Contact us for help.Enter the first and last name on the account, as well as the credit or debit card number used to pay for Netflix, then select Find Account.

If we can find your account using that information, we’ll send a password reset email to the email address connected to the account.
If you're billed through a third party and can't sign in:
If you pay for Netflix through a third party, or your subscription is included in a package, look for the name of the third party in our Help Center to find the right article. Then see the "I'm having trouble signing in to Netflix" section for instructions.
If you don’t use a debit or credit card to pay for Netflix, contact us for help.
Changing your password

If you know your password and can sign in to Netflix but want to change it, go to the Change password page.
You can’t change your password if a Kids profile is active. Change to another profile first and then change the password.
When choosing a password, it should be:
Different than what you use for any other websites or apps
At least 8 characters long
A mix of uppercase and lowercase letters, numbers, and symbols
Not easily guessed - such as “password,” “12345678,” or use any personal information (name, birthday, address)
A password manager can make it easier to keep track of unique passwords.
