How To Check Office 365 Directory Synchronization

So – you set up Azure AD Connect to take care of the synchronization between your on-premises AD and Office 365. But what’s the status on the synchronization?
Fortunately it’s very easy to see how your synchronization is working out generally.
Check Office 365 Directory Synchronization Using the Admin Console
Open up the Microsoft 365 Admin Center and click on Health and Directory sync status:
In the above example it seems that the last directory sync happened two days ago. This should prompt you to immediately log in to your Azure AD Connect server and check what’s going on.
The below table shows an overview of the properties that are visible in the Directory sync status view:

| Item | Information |

| Directory sync | On or Off. Tells if directory synchronization is turned on or off. |
| Latest directory sync | Last time directory sync ran. Will display a warning and a link to a troubleshooting tool if the last sync was more than three days ago. |
| Password sync | On or off. Specifies whether you have password hash sync between our on-premises and your Microsoft 365 tenant. |
| Last password sync | Last time password hash sync ran. Will display a warning and a link to a troubleshooting tool if the last sync was more than three days ago. |
| Directory sync client version | Contains a download link if a new version of Azure AD Connect has been released. |
| Directory sync service account | Displays the name of your Microsoft 365 directory sync service account. |
| Idfix tool | Contains a link to the Idfix tool. |
| Domains verified | Number of domains in your Microsoft 365 tenant that you have verified you own. |
| Domains not verified | Domains you have added, but not verified. |
Check Office 365 Directory Synchronization Using PowerShell
If you prefer to use PowerShell the same information can be read using the following command:
