How to Delete All Content & Settings (Format)

In this article, you'll learn how to format the system memory and delete all settings.

Note

• You may want to read our information about what will be lost when you delete all content and settings.
• If you would only like to delete certain data, see How to Delete Wii U Console Data, Including Save Data, Update Data, Downloaded Games, and Other Data.
• If you receive the message, "An Internet connection is required to delete all content and settings from the console," then you will need to connect the Wii U to the internet before proceeding.

What to do

1. From the Wii U Menu, select System Settings.
2. Using the Left Stick, scroll to Delete All Content & Settings and press the A Button.
3. Please read the information displayed on your TV screen, and then tap Next.
4. Wait for a few seconds, and then tap Delete Everything.
