Use Switch Data Management

You can delete your save game in Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl by using Nintendo Switch's Data Management feature, as there's no in-game option to create a new game.

How to Delete Save Data
  1. From the homescreen of your Nintendo Switch, go to System Settings
  2. From System Settings, go to Data Management
  3. Select Delete Save Data
  4. Select Pokemon Brilliant Diamond or Pokemon Shining Pearl from the menu
  5. Select whether to Delete Save Data for user, or Delete All Save Data For this Software to delete all saves from all users

Steps on How to Delete Save Data

1 Nintendo Switch Home MenuIf you are in-game, close the game and go to the Home Menu. Go to the System Settings screen by tapping the above button button on the screen or by using the directional buttons.
2 Nintendo Switch System SettingsUnder System Settings, go to the Data Management Tab. Under Data Management, select Delete Save Data.
3 Nintendo Switch Delete Pokemon Save DataSelect the Save File for your Pokemon game.
4 Nintendo Switch Delete Save DataSelect the profile from which you want to delete the Save File. Make sure not to delete the save file from someone else's profile!
5 Nintendo Switch Delete Save Data WarningA warning message will appear notifying you that the save file cannot be recovered. Select Delete Save Data if you wish to proceed and permanently delete your Save File.
6 When you start your game again, you will be greeted with a clean slate and be able to start a new game!
