Do you want to deposit that physical check while you're on the go? Use Cash App! Cash App allows you to deposit paper checks in just a few quick, easy steps. Keep reading as we walk you through how to deposit your check, which checks Cash App accepts, how long it takes Cash App to deposit your funds, and more.
Can you deposit a check on Cash App?
Yes, you can deposit a check on Cash App by opening Cash App and selecting “Deposit Check” under the “Money” tab. Make sure the check is endorsed, then take a picture of the front and back. Hit submit, and Cash App should deposit your funds within 8 days.
Steps
Section 1 of 4:How to Deposit a Check on Cash App
-
1 Endorse your check and make sure it meets all the requirements. Your check must be endorsed to be eligible for mobile check deposit. Sign the back of your check with blue or black ink, then write “Cash App Deposit” under your signature.[1] Additionally, make sure it meets the following requirements: - The check must be a type of check accepted by Cash App, like a paycheck or personal check. See the full list of accepted types in the What checks are accepted? section below.
- The check must be under 180 days old.
- The check is made out to you, the same person that’s on the Cash App account, or jointly, with an approved person.
- The check is payable in US dollars.
- The check equals or is less than your deposit limit. See all deposit limits in the What are the deposit fees and limits? section below.
- The check has been properly signed by the person or company issuing it.
- The check hasn’t been deposited already.
- The check is unaltered.
- 2 Open Cash App, tap the Money tab, then select Deposit Check. Log in to your Cash App account if you haven’t already. After tapping the Money tab on the app’s home screen, select “Deposit Check” to begin the deposit process.[2]
- The icon next to the Money tab resembles a bank.
- 3 Take a picture of the front and back of your check. Your device’s camera will open. Make sure you have good lighting, and line the front side of your check up with the grid on the screen. Hold your device still so the photo comes out clear. Then, do the same with the back of the check. You can retake the photos if they come out blurry.[3]
- 4 Tap submit. Once you hit submit, Cash App may ask you to confirm that your banking information and the information on the check are correct. Cash App will then deposit your check.[4] Assuming everything is correct, expect to receive your funds within 8 business days.
- After depositing it, keep your check in a safe place for at least 14 days in case anything goes wrong.
- If you have questions or need assistance, contact Cash App for support.

Community Q&A
Search Add New Question- Question Why can't I deposit checks when I started this account a long time ago?
Community Answer CashApp can be a pain with this. Wait until you receive a direct deposit, and you start using your account.
