For many users, the animated Google logo can be a source of entertainment, but for others, it's a bother and a waste of time. If you find yourself part of the latter group, you might be glad to know that you can disable these animations with a quick settings adjustment in your Web browser. The Google doodles are JavaScript, and you can disable them by turning off JavaScript support in your browser. Chrome, Firefox and Internet Explorer all allow you to make this change.

Launch Internet Explorer and click the Settings icon. This is located at the top-right corner of the window and it looks like a cog. Click "Internet Options."

Select "Disable" or "Prompt" under "Enable Active Scripting." This will either block JavaScript altogether or ask you whether you wish to run a script when it is present.

Launch the Firefox browser and click the Firefox menu at the top-left corner of the window. Click "Options." If you don't see Options, click "Preferences."

Select the Content tab and deselect "Enable JavaScript."

Click "OK" to save your settings and Google will not bother you again.

Launch Chrome and click the wrench icon in the top-right corner of the window. Click "Options."

Click "Do not allow any site to run JavaScript."
