How To Download And Play IMessage Games On Your IPhone

iMessage is a useful way to communicate with other users who also have an iPhone. With fun emojis, read receipts, and typing alerts, it’s essentially modern-day instant messaging. With generic text messages, you might not get all these features.

However, iMessage is so much more than messaging. You may have seen people play iMessage games like pool and golf. If you want to learn how to play those games with friends too, this tutorial will teach you how.

Step 1. Make Sure iMessage Is Enabled

If you have an iPhone, you have the ability to use iMessage through the Messages app. However, the Messages app only allows you to use iMessage if you have it enabled.

To enable iMessage, go to Settings > Messages and tap iMessage. With this enabled, you can now send and receive iMessages.

Step 2. Download iMessage Games

When you are in the Messages app, you should see a bar above the keyboard that has a few icons from your downloaded apps. If you don’t see this bar, tap the gray App Store icon next to the text field to enable it.

Once you have this bar, you can tap the blue App Store icon to open the iMessage App Store. Here, you can see all the available downloads. You will see plenty of iMessage games and Emoji packs that can make iMessage more fun.

Just tap Get to download whatever iMessage game takes your fancy.

Step 3. Start an iMessage Game

Once you download an iMessage game, you will see it in the bar above the keyboard in the Messages app. Tap on the game you wish to play with a friend and start the game. This will notify your friend and, if they don’t have the game downloaded, they will be able to choose whether they want to download it.

Remember, these games can only be played between iPhone or iPad users who use iMessage. Make sure that your text messages are blue before you ask to play a game, as that indicates you communicate through iMessage. You can also check the text bar to see if it says iMessage or Text Message.
