Step 1: The first step in drawing our brown bear is to create a circle for his head being sure to leave two spaces for his ears and one for his nose.`

Step 2: Next we will need to add the face. First add two small circles for eyes, then a larger oval coming out the bottom for its nose. Add a circle for the tip of the nose with two lines coming out from it to form the mouth. Finally draw arced lines for the ears with a straight line separating it from the head.

Step 3: Now we will draw the body. Start with a circle that is open on the bottom and draw a straight line coming out for the back. From the end of the back draw a curved line for the rear of the bear.

Step 4: Draw the front leg by having two lines coming from the opening in the front of the body. Join them together with to angled lines forming a foot and add a few lines to create the claws.

Step 5: Draw the other front leg with a straight line coming down next to the other leg and create the foot and claws the same way.

Step 6: Now you will draw the hind leg. Extend the leg down from the rear of the bear and another straight line coming from the middle of the body down to the bottom. Create the foot and claws similar to the front legs. Then draw a straight line from the middle of the hind leg to the other leg creating the stomach.

Step 7: Add the second hind leg. Create it the same as the first just making it shorter and have it come out from the stomach next to the hind leg. Your brown bear is now done.

The Brown Bear is a member of the mammal family and the scientific term for them is Ursus arctos. The Latin name Ursus means “bear.” Another name for this species is the Bruin, which is a Dutch word for “brown.” They live in northern Europe, North America, and northern Asia.

It’s estimated that only 200,000 brown bears are remaining in the entire world. There are not many of these creatures, but they’re the least concern for a possibility of extinction.
