Materials

• Pencil
• Drawing Paper
• Crayons or Colored Pencils

In this step by step lesson, we will discover how to draw coffee cup with basic drawing tools. Be sure to observe the different sizes and shapes contained in the example drawing of the coffee cup. The pencil lines in each step is drawn in blue so you can plainly see the most recent shapes that you will be drawing.

Time Needed: 20 minutes

1. Outline The Rim Of The Cup

   

   Draw a wide oval to outline the rim of the cup.

2. Draw The Body Of The Cup

   

   Draw the body of the cup by making a U-shaped line.

3. Add The Coffee

   

   Draw a curved line inside the cup to add the coffee.

4. Add The Plate

   

   Add the plate by drawing two ovals under the cup. Erase parts of the plate that overlap with the cup.

5. Attach The Cup Handle

   

   Draw two C-shaped lines connected to the cup to attach the cup handle.

6. Draw The Spoon’s Bowl

   

   Draw an elongated oval with the left side open.

7. Attach The Spoon’s Handle

   

   Attach the handle of the spoon to the bowl part by drawing the line as shown.

8. Emphasize The Spoon’s Dip

   

   Emphasize the dip on the spoon’s bowl by drawing a curved line.

9. Complete The Coffee Cup Drawing

   

   To complete our illustration, let’s fill in the coffee cup with a light brown crayon. Now, color the coffee with a dark brown crayon. Next, shade the plate with a blue crayon. Then, color the spoon with a purple crayon.
