We will arrive at a finished drawing of a cricket by crafting one area at a time. This project will take 9 steps in total as we continue to create each area which will get us closer to the finished work of art. The finished drawing will be finished off with color making it a drawing you will be proud to show off!

Start With The Head

Draw a small teardrop-like shape on the left side of your paper.

Add Eyes And Antennae

Add the eyes first and then draw the antennae. The cricket has a longer antennae than the grasshopper.

Draw The Neck

The neck is on the right side of the head.

Add The Wings

The cricket’s wings are behind the neck. They will take up most of its body region in this drawing.

Outline The Lower Part Of The Body

Draw a curved line under the neck to the wings.

Details On Wings And Body

Draw small vertical lines for the body and details on the wings like this here.

Draw The Front Legs

Complete the legs by drawing the first two on the front, just below the head and neck.

Add The Middle And Hind Legs

The size of the middle leg is similar to the front. Meanwhile, the hind legs are larger towards the back of the cricket’s body.

Complete your drawing by coloring the cricket with different shades of brown.
