Let's get started shall we? Start by making a circle for the head, and then add the guideline that will go down the middle of the head shape, and flow all the way down the back like so. Once this line is added you can draw in two more circle for the chest, and hind quarters. Draw a belly line, and then the limbs like so. more

The next thing to do is begin sketching out the shape of the head like you see here. This should be very easy to do since it is being drawn from the side. Once done, add the eye, and some detailing to the face like so. Next, draw the outlined shape of the huge curled horn. more

Continue to sketch out the body as you make your way down the back. Rams have a lot of muscle definition so you must convey this in art. Once the entire body is drawn out, you can keep going until the front legs are started. After that you can then finish drawing out the horns, and then work on getting the ear drawn as well. Don't forget to add detail and definition throughout the body like you see here. more

All you have to do here in step four is sketch out the front legs. Since this ram looks like he is charging, the legs in the front are bent up. Draw in the hooves, and some of the back leg lining as well. You will also need to add the gender of this animal as well. more

Well, you did it you made it to the last drawing step. All you need to do now is finish sketching out the hind legs, and then add the tail. Once that is done you can begin erasing all the lines and shapes you drew in step one. Add the remaining bits of muscle definition to finish this drawing off. more

Description: Who here knows what a rocky mountain bighorn sheep is? If you now what this animal is, strap on those pencils to your hands because I will be giving you a lesson on one of these animals right now. Bighorn sheep are also called rams, and they are the animals that are famous for hitting heads as they fight to determine who is leader, or to win a mate. When rams fight, their crashing horns can be heard miles away because when they run to each other, they are running at speeds of up to twenty miles per hour. I know what you must be saying, “how is it that they don’t hurt themselves"? The ram has an incredibly hard, and thick skull that prevents any damage or serious injury. Females also have horns, but theirs is much smaller, and less prominent. Did you know that when two rams are fighting they can go at it for two hours or more? It’s true, depending on how stubborn or determined a ram is, they will continue fighting until one of them decides to give up and walk away. The winner is obviously seen as the dominate male, and because of this he will also win the mate. If you look at pictures of one of these animals, you will see that their large horns are pretty impressive. So impressive in fact, the horns themselves weigh up to thirty pounds. Now that is pretty wild. So, where you can get front row seats to hear the crashing thunder of two rams fighting? Well, I won’t go looking for rams in battle, but if you want to know where they can be found that’s easy. The ram can be found in places like Canada, all the way to New Mexico. Remember, they live on mountains, which means they will be a lot harder to spot. You see, because rams inhabit the mountains they have balance like you wouldn’t believe. They also have hooves that have a split toe, and this helps them keep their balance. Also, the bottom of each hoof is rough, and because of this, it provides these animals with incredible grip so they don’t go sliding down the mountain side. Along with all these amazing qualities, they also have amazing eye site. This means that they will probably see you before you spot them. If you’re asking if these animals are related to sheep, I would have to say yes and no. They are closer to the goat then anything else. The size and lifespan for a ram can range between five and six feet, and they can weigh between one hundred, to almost three hundred pounds. Because of their size they only get to live to about fifteen years old. It doesn’t take a brain surgeon to realize that these are amazing animals, and that is why I wanted to make a tutorial on "how to draw a ram", step by step. I think you will have fun with this lesson because I drew the fella in a battle stance. Well, that does it for me and for the rest of my drawing day. I hope you enjoyed the time you spent here today.
