This lesson will teach you how to draw a sandcastle. We will draw attention to the shapes of each section and types of outlines drawn so that the drawing looks right.

Time Needed: 30 minutes

1. Outline The Bottom Layer

   

   Let’s begin by stacking layers for the sandcastle’s main tower. First, outline the bottom layer by creating a rectangular shape with a bumpy top.

2. Draw The Middle Layer

   

   Draw the middle layer of the main tower by forming a smaller rectangular shape with a bumpy top like in the previous step.

3. Add The Side Towers

   

   Add the sandcastle’s side towers on both sides of the main tower by making a taller rectangular shape with a bumpy top. Then, draw the same bumpy pattern again but slightly higher as shown.

4. Draw The Main Tower

   

   Draw the top layer of the main tower by making a triangular shape. Then, attach the drawn shape to the stack by creating two vertical lines.

5. Place A Flag On Top

   

   Place a flag on top of the sandcastle by first drawing the pole. Then, create a wavy rectangle to draw the flag.

6. Create Windows

   

   Create the windows on the sandcastle walls by making dome shapes as shown.

7. Add Sandcastle Details

   

   Let’s add details to the sandcastle! First, draw curves inside the windows as shown. Next, add roof texture by making evenly spaced lines curving upward. Then, draw horizontal lines to add the sandcastle door’s details.

8. Draw A Starfish

   

   Draw a starfish by forming the shape as shown.

9. Complete The Sandcastle Drawing

   

   Let’s complete the sandcastle drawing by mainly filling in the walls of the sandcastle with a light brown crayon. Next, color the castle door, roof, and inner parts of the walls with an orange crayon. Then, shade the inside of the windows with a dark brown crayon. Now, color the flag with a red crayon and the flagpole with a white crayon. Lastly, color the starfish with a pink crayon.
