Step 1: Let's draw a sheep! Draw a curbed, horizontal line for the back.

Step 2: Add a tiny line at the end with a small loop. There's your tail!

Step 3: Draw a line that goes down but curves back up again. Then trace two lines underneath for the leg. Be sure to add a tiny line going across the bottom of the leg for the paw.

Step 4: Draw the second hind leg by tracing it the same way you did the first, making sure it is a bit hidden.

Step 5: Trace a squiggly line across the bottom of your sheep for the belly.

Step 6: Now add the front leg with two short lines with a tiny line at the bottom for the paw.

Step 7: And just the same, trace the other front leg, hiding it a bit behind the first one.

Step 8: For the neck, trace a line going up.

Step 9: Finally, the head. Draw a letter L that looks like it's laying down. Starting from the back of the head, trace a line to connect to the front of the jaw. Add a tiny line for the mouth, a dot at the top of the head for an eye, and a small triangle shape next to that for the ear. There's your sheep!

Sheep are members of the Bovidae family, along with bison, antelopes, gazelles, and goats, among other animals. There are more than one billion sheep in the world. The country with the largest amount of sheep in the world is China.

• Adult female sheep are called ewes. Adult male sheep are called rams. Baby sheep are called lambs.
• Sheep can see behind themselves without having to turn their heads.
• Sheep stay close together in a group that is called a herd, flock, or mob.
• Sheep eat herbivores, which means they only eat plants. Their diet includes hay, grass, and leaves of trees.
• Sheep’s hooves are divided into two toes.
• The lifespan of a sheep is about seven years.
• The largest species of sheep is the Argali sheep.
• Texas has the most sheep in the United States. The Navajo Churro sheep is the oldest breed in the United States.
• Sheep were originally from the mountains of central Asia. They were first domesticated by humans around 10,000 BC.

Sheep are raised by humans for milk, butter, cream, wool from their fleece, and meat for food. In Germany, people raise East Friesian sheep for milk. In France, the Roquefort sheep is used to make the country’s famous Roquefort cheese.
