Materials

• Pencil
• Drawing Paper
• Crayons or Colored Pencils
• Black Marker (optional)

In this post, we will discover how to draw marshmallows with basic drawing tools. Be sure to observe the different sizes and shapes within the artwork of the marshmallows. The pencil lines in each step is outlined in blue so you can observe the current parts that you should be working on.

Time Needed: 20 minutes

1. Outline The Wrapper

   

   Outline the shape of the marshmallows wrapper by drawing a rectangular shape with bumps on the corners.

2. Draw The Packaging Design

   

   Draw the packaging design of the wrapper by creating two wavy lines.

3. Add A Stick

   

   Add a stick to the packaging design by drawing the line as shown.

4. Attach The Marshmallow

   

   Attach a marshmallow to the stick on the packaging by creating a rectangular shape with rounded corners. Then, draw a curve connecting two corners of the marshmallow like in the illustration to make it look 3d. Be sure to erase parts of the stick that overlaps with the marshmallow.

5. Write The Text

   

   Write the text “MARSHMALLOWS” on the packaging.

6. Draw A Marshmallow

   

   Draw a marshmallow by creating a rectangular shape with rounded corners like earlier. Next, draw the curve forming the flat side of the marshmallow.

7. Add More Marshmallows

   

   Fill the right side of the wrapper with marshmallows as shown.

8. Draw Marshmallows Outside The Wrapper

   

   Let’s add a few marshmallows placed outside the wrapper like in the illustration.

9. Complete The Marshmallows Drawing

   

   Let’s complete our marshmallows illustration. First, color the background of the packaging with red and blue crayons. Next, color the marshmallows with a white crayon. Use an orange crayon to shade the sides of the marshmallows. Now, color in the stick with a brown crayon. Then, add shadows to your drawing using a purple crayon as shown.
