How To Draw Patrick Star

In this cartoon drawing lesson, we will show you how to draw Patrick Star from the animated series about SpongeBob SquarePants.

How to draw Patrick Star step by step

Step 1: Draw the central circle base

If you look at Patrick Star, you will notice that he is essentially a rounded geometric shape with five extensions radiating outward. Therefore, begin by drawing a circle in the center of the page using very light lines. Most of these initial outlines will be erased in the following steps.

Step 2: Draw the head of Patrick Star

Now gradually begin adding these extensions, starting with the upper part – the head. Draw two smooth lines beginning from the sides of the circle from the previous step and guide them upward, connecting them at the top with a small rounded tip. The upper section should be slightly curved backward.

Step 3: Sketch the arms and legs

Patrick’s arms and legs are slightly shorter than his head, so keep this in mind while drawing. Start with the upper limbs, depicting them as two smooth, elongated shapes. Then draw the legs of Patrick Star in the same manner, remembering that all four limbs should be the same size and overall smaller than the head.

Step 4: Draw the eyes and shorts of Patrick Star

Step 7: Draw flowers on the shorts of Patrick Star

Now erase all unnecessary construction lines from the lower part of Patrick Star’s body and trace the contours with clearer, darker outlines. Then draw the canonical floral pattern on his shorts to complete this clothing detail. At this point, you can either color your Patrick drawing, add some light shading, or leave it as it is.
