Materials

• Pencil
• Drawing Paper
• Crayons or Colored Pencils
• Black Marker (optional)

In this beginner’s lesson, we will learn how to draw polar bear with your drawing materials. Pay attention to the different sizes and shapes contained in the example drawing of the polar bear. The pencil lines in each step is outlined in blue so you can identify the most recent shapes that you should be working on.

Time Needed: 20 minutes

1. Draw The Face

   

   First, draw two dots for the eyes. Next, form the snout by drawing a curvy vertical shape. Now, draw the nose by making a rounded shape. Then, add the mouth by drawing two curved lines below the nose.

2. Attach The Ears

   

   Next, let’s attach the polar bear’s ears. To draw the ears, create a triangular shape with a pointed line on top.

3. Form The Head

   

   Form the shape of the polar bear’s head by drawing a bumpy shape.

4. Outline The Body

   

   Let’s outline the polar bear’s body by extending the line forming the head to create a bumpy oval shape.

5. Attach The Legs

   

   Attach the polar bear’s legs below its body by forming the shapes similar to the illustration.

6. Complete The Polar Bear Drawing

   

   Let’s complete the polar bear drawing by first coloring the nose and inner part of the ears with a black crayon. Then, use a white crayon to shade the polar bear’s fur. Use a light gray crayon to add some shadows to the polar bear’s legs and underbelly.
