Materials

• Pencil
• Drawing Paper
• Crayons or Colored Pencils
• Black Marker (optional)

By the end of this lesson we will complete a drawing of praying hands by drawing one section at a time. This project will take 6 steps to complete as we continue to draw each area moving closer to the finished drawing. The finished artwork will be shaded with color resulting in a drawing you can be proud of!

Time Needed: 20 minutes

1. Draw The Palms

   

   First, create the palms of the hands by drawing two ovals. When praying hands will be touching. Make sure your drawn ovals are touching slightly.

2. Outline First Fingers

   

   Attach a stretched U-shaped line on each palm to outline the fingers in the middle of each hand.

3. Draw The Index Finger

   

   Draw the index finger on each hand by making a vertical line with a hook on the top end as shown.

4. Outline The Thumb

   

   Next, attach a thumb to each hand by forming an M shape as shown.

5. Draw The Wrist

   

   Then, draw the wrist by creating a sharp U-shaped line attached to the palm of each hand.

6. Complete The Praying Hands Drawing

   

   Let’s finish the drawing by coloring the praying hands with a skin tone-like color. Now, we’re done!
