Setup the material for basic room“Two sided glass” for windows

  • change color of material
  • increase “luminosity” and setup brickwall with bumb
  • Use material “”Neon_01” for glowing inside of lamp
0:52 min

Adding Library objects to the scene

  • create container “Furniture” in scenograph
  • replace objects in scenograph (4:56)
  • move objects as “instance” with defined spacing, “break” objects out of instance in scenograph (7:50+11:15)
3:53 min

Create Image

  1. create 4K picture (Camera/OutputSize: 3840/2160)
  2. Adjust North offset (Localization) (21:10)
  3. setup lighting: increase sun, reduce sun reflection (21:10)
  4. increase ambient, adjust white balance
  5. Increase GI, reduce distance (21:25)
  6. ! reduce shadow and increase shadow bias for more crisp shadow (21:39)
  7. Increase ambient occlusion
  8. Change weather and add smog (21:44)
20:44 min

Add artificial light

  • new “Contaner for IES-Light”
  • Change intensity (Lumen), color (Kelvin), Shadows on
21:44 min

Add Reflection probe and HDRI Dome

  • Sphere Reflection Probe scaled bigger than room
  • Increase brightness
  • Add HDRI Dome (user library) for new environment and background
  • Transform HDRI Dome in scenograph
23:26 min

Finetuning Image adjusting/Visual effects

  • Change Contrast + Saturation
  • Use decals for more realistic effects on surfaces (concret floor, wall damages)
  • Export: Max reflection (ON), Max Lighting (ON)
24:44 min

3D Modeling

The 3D Model of this scene was designed by Danial Bagherzadeh in Autodesk Revit 2019. Mohammad Mahadi Molaee exported the scene to .fbx format using the Revit add-in to Twinmotion 2019. This add-in enables you to either synchronize a Revit model with Twinmotion or export a Revit project to the .fbx format for Twinmotion. In addition, it offers different options to optimize your 3D model for better performance in Twinmotion.

Textures & Materials

Apart from detailed elements with textures already added in Revit, such as the beams and columns, the overwhelming majority of materials are PBR materials from the Twinmotion 2019 library.

I created the brick material inside Twinmotion with a Diffuse map and a Normal map.(Click to increase picture to see actual settings)

Lighting

To render this interior scene, I decided to shine light into the environment in order to have light beams  on the floor. To do so, I put the sun in front of the windows and increased sun brightness.

One tip to improve shadows for an interior project is to set the shadow distance to 50. The smaller the shadow distance is, the sharper the shadow will be.(Click to increase picture to see actual settings)
