This wikiHow teaches you how to set up a connection to a proxy server in your Firefox browser's settings. You cannot perform this process in the Firefox mobile app.

  1. Step 1 Open Firefox. 1 Open Firefox. Its app icon resembles a blue globe with an orange fox wrapped around it.
  2. Step 2 Click ☰. 2 Click . This icon is in the top-right corner of the Firefox window. A drop-down menu will appear. Advertisement
  3. Step 3 Click Options. 3 Click Options. You should see this option in the middle of the drop-down menu. Doing so opens the settings page.
    • On a Mac or Linux computer, click Preferences instead.
  4. Step 4 Click General. 4 Click General. It's a tab on the left side of the Firefox window.
    • If this tab is blue, Firefox is already on the General tab.
  5. Step 5 Scroll down to the "Network Proxy" section. 5 Scroll down to the "Network Proxy" section. It's at the very bottom of the Firefox page.
  6. Step 6 Click Settings…. 6 Click Settings…. This button is on the far-right side of the page. Doing so will open the Proxy Settings window.
  7. Step 7 Check the "Manual proxy configuration" box. 7 Check the "Manual proxy configuration" box. This option is near the top of the window.
  8. Step 8 Enter your proxy information. 8 Enter your proxy information. You'll need to fill out the following fields:
    • HTTP Proxy - Your proxy server's IP address goes here.
    • Port - The server's port number goes here.
  9. Step 9 Check the "Use this proxy server for all server protocols" box. 9 Check the "Use this proxy server for all server protocols" box. It's directly below the "HTTP Proxy" field.
  10. Step 10 Click OK. 10 Click OK. It's at the bottom of the window. Doing so will save your settings.
