How To Evolve Happiny Into Chansey In Pokemon Legends: Arceus

Filling up the Pokédex is central to the story of Pokémon Legends: Arceus. As members of the Survey Corps in Team Galactic, players are tasked with researching the many Pokémon that live in the Hisui Region. Of these Pokémon, baby Pokémon in Pokémon Arceus can be some of the most challenging players come across concerning achieving research levels. However, unlike other baby Pokémon that evolve with friendship, Happiny stands apart with its unique evolution method.

Initially introduced in Generation IV of the Pokémon franchise, Happiny is the pre-evolved state of the beloved Egg Pokemon, Chansey. Chansey has served the franchise as the mascot of the Pokémon Centers, hospitals available in most towns where players can heal their Pokémon. While Pokémon Centers and the iconic Nurse Joy do not appear in the new Pokémon Arceus, Happiny and its evolved form Chansey do make an appearance. Players looking to research this evolution line will want the Happinys they catch to evolve into Chansey for their Pokédex.

The first stage of this evolution line is Happiny, the Playhouse Pokémon. As a baby Pokemon, Happiny has fairly poor stats. With a 5 in Attack and Defense and a 15 in Special Attack, Happiny will struggle to be an effective member of any adventuring team. While the Playhouse Pokémon can be a cute mascot for parties, players looking to upgrade their team will want to evolve their Happiny to Blissey, who has over double the total stat points of Happiny.

How to Evolve Happiny in Pokémon Legends: Arceus

Luckily for players, evolving Happiny into Chansey is extremely easy. Players can use an Oval Stone, one of the evolution stones in the Pokémon Legends: Arceus. So, while Happiny is in the player's party, the player can use an Oval Stone from their satchel on the Happiny to begin its evolution into Chansey. Especially considering the ease of finding Oval Stones, this makes Happiny one of the quickest baby Pokémon to evolve in Pokémon Legends: Arceus.

As players aim to complete their Pokédex in Pokemon Legends: Arceus, evolving Happiny into Chansey is an easy way to gain research points. Especially if the player happens upon a Mass Outbreak of Happinys, they will find themselves swimming in Oval Stones and the Playhouse Pokémon. Players will need to evolve Happiny into Chansey three times to complete the evolution research task of Happiny. Only three Oval Stones stand between the player and a perfect Pokédex entry for Happiny.
