How to Unlock Fast Travel
You can unlock Fast Travel in RDR2 by upgrading your gang's camp after the start of Chapter 2: Horseshoe Overlook. Note: You'll need $545 to unlock the Fast Travel map. Go to The Heartlands to make an easy $500 or to Treasure Maps to make an easy $100. Here's how to unlock Fast Travel Map in your camp.
- Beat the first 5 missions in Chapter 2 and that will unlock Money Lending and Other Sins, a Strauss mission you start from camp.
- Completing this mission will unlock the Ledger behind Dutch's tent in camp.
- Approach the Ledger and purchase First Things First (Dutch's Tent) for $220 and then Next in Line (Arthur's Wagon) for $325.
- From your tent at camp, you can travel to any settlement that you've visited before.

Other Means of Transportation
You can fast travel back to camp, or to other locations from your campsite as you could in the original Red Dead Redemption, as long as you have the map upgrade purchased.
You can also hire a stagecoach or purchase a ticket on a train to get from town to town.
Auto-Ride
If you don't happen to be in a town or near a rural train station, you can use the auto-ride feature of the cinematic camera.
Enable the cinematic camera while holding the Run button (X on PS4, A on Xbox One), then let it go once the camera is fully on. Your horse will gallop along the road it's currently on or head towards a waypoint you've placed on the map. This feature does not work during missions or while riding with NPCs.
