Welcome to the How to Find and Collect Hemp page of the IGN wiki guide and walkthrough for New World. This page explains how to find the raw resource node Hemp, which is extremely important for the Armoring trade skill line as this is how you obtain the crafting resource Fibers. You can weave Fibers into Linen, which is the most basic crafting material for most armor and bags that can be crafted at an Outfitting Station.

Fortunately, finding Hemp isn't all that difficult at low levels as long as you have a Sickle equipped. Even a Flint Sickle will do since the threshold for harvesting Hemp plants is 0 skill points in the Harvesting trade skill line.

How to Find and Collect Hemp in New World

Finding Hemp is no great challenge. No matter which starting zone you're in - be it First Light, Windsward, Everfall, or Monarch's Bluffs - you can find Hemp growing almost as abundantly as you can find Herbs. You may have to spend a bit of time running around in the field, but you're bound to come across clusters of this pink-colored plant. A single node can net you more than enough Fibers needed to craft one or more pieces of armor, and it's possible to farm these nodes since they respawn relatively quickly.

You're most likely to find Hemp out in fields, heavily-forested areas, and near points of interest on your map where a lot of food crops are grown - like farms, ranches, and plantations. Hemp can grow in other parts of the world, like the tropical jungles of First Light. You should stick to the southern half of the map, however, which is much more green and verdant than the top half of the map.

You'll need any old Sickle to harvest your Hemp node and collect its valuable Fibers. You can craft a basic Flint Sickle at any campfire. A Flint Sickle costs 1 Flint and 1 Green Wood, which can be picked up off the ground and pulled off of any nearby Bushes, respectively speaking.

Press Tab to open your inventory screen up and drag your new Sickle from the inventory panel on the right-hand side of the screen to your character sheet on the left-hand side of the screen. Now that it's equipped, tab back out and harvest Hemp to your heart's content. This is as simple as walking up to the Hemp node, pressing E until your character begins harvesting, then wait for the white circle to close.

How to Craft Best Harvesting Sickles

The two best endgame Sickles are the Starmetal Harvesting Sickle and the Orichalcum Harvesting Sickle.

To craft the Starmetal Harvesting Sickle, you will need:

• 9 Starmetal Ingots
• 2 Timber
• 1 Coarse Leather
• Tier 4 or Higher Workshop
• Level 100 or Higher Engineering Skill

To craft the Orichalcum Harvesting Sickle, you will need:

• 10 Orichalcum Ingots
• 2 Timber
• 1 Coarse Leather
• Tier 5 Workshop
• Level 150 or Higher Engineering Skill

I have obtained the Orichalcum Harvesting Sickle.
