Welcome to our New World guide for How to Find Petalcaps! Whether you need them for crafting or to complete the Weakness of the Ego main story quest, we have you covered with their exact locations and uses.

How to Find Petalcaps

The first time you encounter the plant—also known as Fronded Petalcap—will probably be during the Weakness of the Ego main story quest where you're tasked with finding Water, Rivercress Stems, and Petalcaps for Adiana Theron so you can make three Corruption Tinctures.

The other two materials are fairly easy to hunt down, but the third leaves many players scratching their heads. By far the easiest way to find the pesky plant is to head to Windsward, and you'll need to equip a Sickle to harvest them.

I've made my way to Windsward - time to hunt those suckers down!

Once there, venture out into the fields just north of the settlement and look for a green plant that resembles a giant cactus succulent. It will have a white glow around it as you get close. If you're unsuccessful because they've been picked already, the fields to the south and southwest of Windsward also have Petalcaps.

How to use Petalcaps

Outside of the Weakness of the Ego quest, Petalcaps are mainly used for their yields. When harvested, you also have a chance of getting Green Pigment, which makes green dye.

It is a popular material amongst those who like to change the color of their Apparel in New World.
