How To Get Cut, Fly, Surf & Strength In Pokemon Brilliant Diamond ...

The remakes of Pokemon Diamond and Pearl are finally upon us and with them, the return of the dreaded HMs.

After disappearing as part of Gen VII and Pokemon Sun/Ultra Sun and Moon/Ultra Moon, the set of restrictive field moves are back.

While this was good news for many, meaning there was no longer a need for an HM slave, some Pokemon purists were upset.

In Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, there are a total of eight different HM's and we're going to tell you how to get four of them - Cut, Fly, Surf and Strength.

Locations of the First Four HMs in Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl

Below, you can find the location of each of the games first four HMs

You will be pleased to know that with the Poketch, players will be able to use HMs without tying them to a Pokemon within their party.

How to Get Cut in Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl

Players can get HM01 Cut in Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl from Eterna City.

There's not much you'll need to do for this. Upon entering Eterna City players will need to have a conversation with Elite Four Champion Cynthia. During this conversation, she will gift you with the Cut HM.

How to Get Fly in Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl

HM02 is Fly. It's one of the handiest HMs in the game, allowing places to revisit any town they've previously been to.

Players can get Fly by entering Team Galactic's warehouse in Veilstone City. Much like Cut, Fly is handed to you in Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl.

How to Get Surf in Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl

Players will get HM03 Surf in Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl from Celestic City.

Players will need to confront the Team Galactic member blocking the entrance to the ruins and defeat him in battle. Upon doing so, he will flee freeing up the entrance. Enter, look at the paintings on the ruins and wait for Cynthia's grandmother to come in and bless you with the HM.

How to Get Strength in Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl

Strength is probably the most difficult of the four HMs for players to get.

In Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, it's located at the top of The Lost Tower. This tower can be found between Hearthome City and Solaceon City on Route 209.

To get HM04 Strength, you'll need to battle your way to the top and speak to the two old ladies waiting. One will gift you a cleanse tag, the other Strength.
