In Pastoria City there's a place called the Great Marsh. The building to enter the Marsh is located north of the town. The Great Marsh is also known as the Sinnoh region's Safari Zone, meaning the area is the only place you can capture Pokemon by simply throwing Poke Balls at them rather than battling them. It will cost you 500 cash to enter the Marsh.

Immediately as you enter there should be an Ace Trainer NPC walking on your right. Talk to him and he will hand over several TM 97s, which are items used to teach Pokemon the move Defog. The Defog HM will also be available in your Poketch.

What is Defog

As a TM, Defog is a flying-type special move. It is described as being a strong wind that blows away the target's barriers, like Reflect and Light Screen. It will also lower the target Pokemon's evasiveness.

As an HM, Defog can clear the fog of an area outside of battle. This is extremely useful to have to get through route 210, which is covered with fog.
