Getting a special Egg is the only way to get Manaphy in Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl. This page covers exactly how to get Manaphy, and how to unlock the Mystery Gift feature needed to receive the egg. Keep reading below. How to Get Manaphy in Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl

The Manaphy Egg can be obtained through the Mystery Gift option on the main menu. From there, click on the Via the Internet and you should be able to get the Egg. The Egg will remain available in Mystery Gift until February 21, 2022, so if you want to get Manaphy you need to play the games by the cut-off date. You'll also need a strong internet connection on your Nintendo Switch to access the Via the Internet option.

Once you have the Egg, you will need to walk a certain amount before it can hatch. Having a Pokemon with the Flame Body ability in your party will halve the time it will take to hatch it. Once it hatches you'll have a Manaphy.

How to Unlock Mystery Gift

After you defeat Roark and earn your first badge at Oreburgh City, head back to Jubilife City. There you meet Team Galactic for the first time. After defeating them with Dawn/Lucas and talking to a random NPC, head over to the Jubilife TV Station. On the third floor, talk to the male NPC and select the option "EVERYONE HAPPY WI-FI-CONNECTION". Afterward, the Mystery Gift option should be selectable from the main menu.

Who is Manaphy

Manaphy is a mythical water-type Pokemon. To get Manaphy in the original Pokemon Diamond and Pearl, you would have to get the Manaphy Egg while playing the original Pokemon Rangers game on the Nintendo DS. You can then transfer the Manaphy Egg from your Pokemon Rangers cartridge to your copy of Pearl or Diamond.

How to get Phione

If you leave Manaphy at the daycare with a Ditto, you will receive a special egg that will hatch into a Phione. Manaphy is the only Mythical Pokemon who can leave players an egg, and Phione cannot evolve into Manaphy.
