How to Get Munchlax in Pokemon Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl

The first two methods are the most labor-intensive.  The first involves using honey trees to attract a Munchlax. To attract one, you need to cover a tree in honey then return later to see which Pokemon have been attracted to it. You can read our guide on how to get honey here.

There are 21 honey trees in the game and Munchlax will only go to four of them. Unfortunately, these trees are randomly assigned to a player at the start of the game, based on their trainer ID and secret ID. In short, it’s a slim chance they will visit a honey tree, but it may work.

The next method involves breeding a Snorlax. You can undertake this task at the daycare center. The Snorlax should be holding a full incense item. You will need a compatible Pokemon to turn the egg into a Munchlax egg.

By far the quickest and easiest method involves using the Grand Underground. There are Pokemon hideaways here, and each will provide different Pokemon depending on the biome and your level in the game. To see Munchlax in these locations, you need to be between levels 39 and 63. The Spacious Cave, Grassland Cave, Whiteout Cave, Riverbank Cave, Sunlit Cavern, and Still Water Cavern are all places where you can find Munchlax.

There are many Pokemon that need more than a required level to evolve. Some need special items or statistics. Munchlax is one of these, and its evolution requires a high level of happiness.

Once you have the Soothe Bell, assign it to Munchlax. You should then follow this by maxing it out on vitamins and protein. This will make the Pokemon happy and joyful, and ready to evolve. Assign Munchlax to the first slot in your party then go into battle. He should evolve as a result.
