Getting someone to dream about you can be difficult. You can try to influence other people's dreams, but it may not work, as the subconscious creates dreams to deal with problems you're facing.[1] Nonetheless, you can try the tricks in this article to influence someone you know, first by getting into the person's mind before they go to sleep and second by being memorable in general.

Steps

Method 1 Method 1 of 2:

Getting in the Person's Mind

PDF download Download Article
  1. Step 1 Try giving the person a picture of yourself. 1 Try giving the person a picture of yourself. This trick will work better if they place you on their nightstand. If you are the last image a person sees before they sleep, they'll be more likely to dream about you.[2]
  2. Step 2 Call or text the person near bedtime. 2 Call or text the person near bedtime. If you talk to the person before they sleep, they're more likely to be thinking about you when they goes to sleep.[3] Advertisement
  3. Step 3 Talk to the person. 3 Talk to the person. Wait until the person is in deep sleep. While the person is dreaming, try saying something to them quietly, such as "Dream of Nicky" or "Didn't Nicky look pretty tonight?" Don't be loud enough to wake them up.[4]
    • The reason this may work is because you tend to incorporate sounds and sensations into your dreams. Therefore, if you use your voice to talk to a person, you may be able to trigger your image in their mind.[5]
  4. Step 4 Use a characteristic smell. 4 Use a characteristic smell. Whether you have a signature perfume or you prefer a particular soap, introduce the scent to the sleeping person. Like sounds, smells can be incorporated into dreams, and if it reminds the person of you, you may show up in their dream.[6]
  5. Step 5 Record a video of yourself. 5 Record a video of yourself. If you can get the person to play it before bed, you may be able to encourage the person to dream about you.
  6. Step 6 Leave a memento that reminds the person of you. 6 Leave a memento that reminds the person of you. For instance, leave your favorite necklace behind that reminds them of you. Try leaving it on their nightstand to remind them of you before they go to sleep.

Method 2 Method 2 of 2:

Being Memorable

  1. Step 1 Let your unique characteristics shine. 1 Let your unique characteristics shine. Whether you like bold glasses or own 20 cats, it's the things that make you unique that make you memorable. Don't be afraid to show that side to the person you want to dream about you.[7]
  2. Step 2 Be authentic. 2 Be authentic. That is, don't hide your opinion or thoughts. Being who you really are will help you stand out.[8]
    • For instance, if the person you are trying to get to notice you asks you what movie you like, don't just say, "Oh, you know, comedies." Be specific: "I really liked the latest Star Trek movie. I know a lot of Trekkies hated it, but I loved the story line."
  3. Step 3 Give the person a compliment. 3 Give the person a compliment. People like being told nice things about themselves, and you will increase your chances of being memorable if you do compliment someone.[9]
  4. Step 4 Do something unusual. 4 Do something unusual. To stick in someone's mind, you need to stand out from the crowd. Therefore, you need to do things out of the norm. Wear a silly hat around the person. Bake a cake for them. Do something that makes them remember you in particular.[10]
  5. Step 5 Listen intently. 5 Listen intently. One way to show you are interested in a person is to listen intently. You show you genuinely care about what the person thinks or says. Because this quality is rare, it will help you stand out.[11]
  6. Step 6 Try a hook. 6 Try a hook. If you're just meeting a person, give them a memorable piece of information about yourself. The best kinds of hooks are funny.[12]
    • For instance, say you're meeting a friend of your sister at a gathering in Arizona. You could say, "Hi, I'm Carrie's sister from Oklahoma. I tried to leave the tornadoes behind, though."
  7. Step 7 Pick interesting topics. 7 Pick interesting topics. When starting up a conversation, move away from questions about the person's job or the weather. Instead, try more interesting topics, such as a local play that's running or a great book you just read.[13]

  • Question Are there any other ways to get into other people's dreams? Mari Cartagenova Mari Cartagenova Spiritual Teacher & Medium Expert Answer So there's this concept called remote viewing. This involves projecting yourself into different places with your energy. Start by getting into a meditative state and imagining your spirit rising above your body. Then, set a clear mental intention to visit the person in their dreams. For example, if you tell your child you'll visit them in their dreams, you're focusing on connecting with them in the dream realm. However, this process doesn't always work because it also depends on the other person's openness and ability to connect with you. Thanks! We're glad this was helpful. Thank you for your feedback. Mari Cartagenova Mari Cartagenova Spiritual Teacher & Medium Expert Answer It could mean that your subconscious is processing your feelings and desires related to this person. If your crush recently asked you out or talked to you, your dreams might reflect your excitement and anticipation about connecting with them. On the other hand, if your crush doesn't know you exist and you're admiring them from afar, your dreams could be a manifestation of your hopes and desires for a future connection. Dreaming about your crush might also be an intuitive projection of your wish to be with them. When thinking about your crush and dreaming about them, you're energetically putting your feelings out into the universe, hoping to connect with them on a subconscious level. This subconscious feeling might even influence your crush to start thinking about you and be interested in you. Thanks! We're glad this was helpful. Thank you for your feedback. To get someone to dream about you, make them think about you more often by spending time with them and being interesting. Naturally, the more you hang out with someone, the more they’ll think about you and the more likely they’ll be to dream about you. Try complimenting them often. Your kind comments should stay with them and encourage them to dream about you. You can also do something unusual to help them remember you. Try wearing a funny hat or baking a cake for them. Talk about weird and interesting things with them, like astronomy, exotic animals, or dreaming. People often dream of things they think about just before they sleep, so try texting or calling the person before bed to plant the seed of a dream. Keep in mind that, although these methods might help, there's no guarantee someone will dream of you. For more tips, including how to make someone dream of you while you’re with them, read on!
