How To Get Your Ohio Driver's Permit (TIPIC)
Maybe your like
In Ohio, all new drivers are required to obtain a Temporary Instruction Permit Identification Card (TIPIC) learner's permit (also known as temps) in order to begin behind-the-wheel driving training.
You can apply for your temporary learner's permit at your local Deputy Registrar License Agency.
You must be at least 15 and a half years old to apply.
Bring documents to prove:
- Ohio residency
- Your identity
- Your date of birth
- Social Security Number
- Legal U.S. Presence
If you are under 18, you must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian who can provide proof of identification. You will also need to pay any associated fees for your Temporary Permit.
You will need to take a vision examination and a written examination before receiving your temporary permit. The written examination covers Ohio motor vehicle regulations and traffic signs. Our Permit Prep course can help you to pass your temps exam the first time! Review the information in the Ohio BMV Handbook in a convenient, engaging online format that will help you absorb the information needed to ace your permit exam. Register Now
Once you have received your temporary learner's permit, you are ready to move forward with your behind-the-wheel training and practice!
