Even if you’re very happy with the way you look, unflattering pictures can always happen and make you feel less confident about your physical appearance. Fortunately, there are certain things you can do to try to look as slender as possible the next time you pose in front of a lens.

5-Minute Crafts will show you some tricks to help you boost your natural beauty and instantly seem leaner in photos.

1. Move your chin slightly forward.

This trick will help you avoid a double chin and make your jaw look more defined. At the same time, it’s advisable to use your tongue to touch the roof of your mouth as this will allow you to tighten the muscles in your face.

2. Move your shoulders back.

Watching the posture of your shoulders will help you look taller and slimmer.

3. Keep your arms away from your body.

Avoid placing your arms straight next to your body as this will make you look wider. Instead, place your hands onto the front side of your hips and bend your elbows. Remember to move your shoulders and elbows slightly backward to ensure a thinner appearance.

💡Enhance this pose by moving your body slightly to one side in order to make your hips look leaner.

4. Pose at an angle.

Stand at a 45º angle by moving one leg forward so that it’s placed in front of the other. This will make your legs look much longer.

5. Don’t lean toward the camera.

Moving forward to be closer to the camera might create the illusion that you’re pushing your belly out. However, leaning away from your photographer will give you a slimmer look.

6. Stand in the middle when taking group photos.

8. Cross your legs at the ankles when sitting.

9. Lean your hips back.

This will create a gap between your legs, making you look thinner.

10. Use your purse to hide your midsection.

Hold your bag right in front of your abdomen if you’re wearing an unflattering top that makes your belly stand out.
